Borislava Taneva is a pianist, composer, educator, chamber musician, and organizer of musical events. Her active involvement in contemporary cultural life in Bulgaria and abroad defines her as a versatile and accomplished musician.
Borislava Taneva has won numerous national and international awards in piano, chamber music, and composition competitions in Bulgaria, Italy, Japan, Greece, Luxembourg, Norway, and more. She has given recitals in Bulgaria, Greece, Germany, Italy, Brazil, Switzerland, Lithuania, Israel, France, Norway, North Macedonia, Spain, and other countries.
After graduating, Borislava Taneva began her career as an assistant professor in the Piano Department of the Performance Faculty at the “Pancho Vladigerov” National Academy of Music (NMA) in Sofia. She is currently a professor of piano at NMA and serves as vice-rector of the Academy.
In 2012, Borislava Taneva earned her PhD. For several years, she successfully taught the Interpretation of Contemporary Music in Athens.
She leads masterclasses and presents seminars on various topics at music colleges and academies in Europe, Brazil, the United States, Singapore, and beyond.
Professor Taneva has served as a jury member in numerous national and international piano competitions in Greece, France, Finland, Austria, Luxembourg, Singapore, Serbia, Spain, Bulgaria, and other countries. Her students have received numerous awards from national and international
competitions.
Borislava Taneva is a sought-after collaborator among Bulgarian composers. She creates primarily chamber music and vocal works, as well as songs and music for children. She has also published several collections of piano pieces for beginners, edited by MUSICA FERRUM in London.
She is the founder and a member of the Swiss-Bulgarian Association of Culture (SBAC), based in Geneva.
Borislava Taneva has received special awards for her contributions to Bulgarian culture.
