PILAR VALERO
Spain
Born in Madrid, Pilar Valero began her musical studies early, graduating with honors in piano from the “Conservatorio Superior de Música de Granada” under the guidance of Juan José Pérez Torrecillas, a disciple of the great master Eduardo del Pueyo. Awarded third prize in the “National Young Pianists Competition,” she received a scholarship to continue her studies at the “Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique” in Mons, Belgium, where, under P. Montero, she was awarded a “Premier Prix avec distinction” in piano. She also specialized in harpsichord with Pierre Hantaï and continued her piano studies with Aquiles Delle Vigne, who was instrumental in her development.
Since then, Valero has performed solo recitals across several countries (Spain, France, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Slovenia, Russia) and has received excellent reviews. She has also performed in chamber music settings, collaborating with renowned groups like the Russian quartet “Kopelman” and the “Delian” quartet. Her orchestral experience includes performances with the “Ural Philharmonic Orchestra” (USSR), the Ploiești Orchestra (Romania), and other Spanish ensembles, such as the Orquesta Sinfónica y de Cámara de Murcia, Orquesta Sinfónica de Almería, and “Orquesta del siglo XXI.”
In addition to her musical career, Valero studies philosophy at the University of Murcia, where she is preparing a doctoral thesis on “Women Composers.” An enthusiast of contemporary music, she has recorded several CDs with a contemporary music ensemble. She currently teaches at the “Conservatorio Superior de Música” in Murcia.
